  2. WHAT IS A FIRE? • FIRE is the result of chemical reaction. • When the oxygen in the air combines with carbon and hydrogen in a fuel, a chemical reaction takes place. • Energy in the form of heat and light is released in this process. • This is what we call fire.

  3. What are the three things needed to make a fire? 1. Fuel 2.Oxygen 3. Heat

  4. Uses of Fire • Cook our food. • Warm our homes in winter. • Generate electricity.

  5. Three main ways to put out fire • Take away the fuel. • Prevent oxygen from reaching it. • Remove the heat.
