Nouns… All nouns are divided into: Proper Common Empire State Building building

Common Nouns A common noun is a noun referring to any person, place, or thing in a general sense.
Examples of Common Nouns 1 1. Girl= any girl
Examples of Common Nouns 2 2. Bus= any bus
Examples of Common Nouns 3 3. House = any house

Proper Nouns You always write a proper noun with a capital letter, since the noun represents the name of a specific person, place, or thing. George Washington The Golden Gate Bridge
Examples of Proper Nouns 1 1. The White House = specific house, where the President lives
Examples of Proper Nouns 2 2. Fluffy = a specific cat, my cat
Examples of Proper Nouns 3 3. Henry = specific person, my neighbor

Collective Nouns A collective noun is a noun naming a group of things, animals, or persons. You could count the individual members of the group, but you usually think of the group as whole is generally as one unit.
