Blow Molding • There are basically four types of blow molding used in the production of plastic bottles, jugs and jars. These four types are: • Extrusion blow molding • Injection blow molding • Stretch blow molding preforms are injection molded, conditioned to the proper temperature, and blown into containers—all in one continuous process. • Reheat stretch blow molding two-stage process, preforms are injection molded, stored for a short period of time (typically 1 to 4 days), and blown into containers using a reheat-blow (RHB) machine.
Process Steps • Pre-form heating. • Pre-form is introduced into the mold and closing unit. • Insert the stretching rod. • Stretching and pre-blowing. • Final bottle blowing. • Mold opens. • Finished bottle discharged from the mold
