Data offered by Finnra • • real-time, measured travel times of road sections, updated every minute (five minute median) • • average speeds and service level descriptions of road sections measured in real-time, updated every minute • • all travel times measured for each road section during the past 24-hour period; average speeds and flow rates updated at least once a day • • average and daily minute-specific travel times for all road sections during the preceding 12 weeks updated at least once every 24 hours • • real-time measurement data from Automatic Traffic Count Stations (ATC) • • real-time measurement data from roadside weather stations (2009) • • valid incident messages (2009) • • live traffic camera images (2009)
Destia • Destia was separated from Finnra in 2001 and is now state-owned company (in 2007 turnover about 600 M€) • Destia operates at following sectors: • planning, construction and maintenance of traffic and industrial environments • consulting services relating to the traffic environment • ferry services • traffic information services (DestiaTraffic)
DestiaTraffic • started this year • offer 24/7 operated traffic information • collect raw traffic related data from multiple sources • information on traffic, weather conditions and traffic disruptions is gathered onto their Traffic Information Platform (TIP) operated 24 hours a day • the information is verified before it is passed on to the end user via operators working in the Destia Traffic Information Centre (TIC) • depending on the service traffic information can be transmitted to navigators, Internet services and mobile devices • their are expanding their services to Nordic and Baltic countries • key customers are GPS professionals, public sector, media • http://www.destiatraffic.com/
Destia RDS-TMC -service • - started in April 2008 • - best-known service of DestiaTraffic from road users point of view in Finland • - also available in Sweden during this year • - In Finland Destia has contract with fm-network operator (Digita) for transmitting TMC-signal • - with navigation device manufacturers Destia makes contracts and give licenses for using otherwise encrypted TMC-signal • - fee is included in the price of navigation device (or TMC antenna) • - the start-up fee provides you with a lifetime subscription for your device • - at the moment available with TomTom, Mio and Navigon devices
