University Policies Code of Student Responsibility- University Policy 406- Applies to every student who has accepted admission- Governs student behavioral conduct inside and outside of classroom- Can be applied to off campus behavior- Overseen by Office of Student Conduct- Behaviors reported via online submission: * incidentreport.uncc.edu * by University Police, faculty, staff, other students- Attorney/Non-Attorney Advocate rights- Records protected by FERPA
Code of Student Responsibility- If a student has displayed behavior you suspect is a violation: * contact the Office of Student Conduct to discuss; * submit online incident report incidentreport.uncc.edu- If the behavior is an immediate threat, call Campus Police at 704-687-2200- A staff member may contact you for additional information about the incident- Based upon information gathered, we will determine if a violation occurred and how to proceed- Educational conversation vs. conduct
University Policies Code of Academic Integrity- University Policy 407- Governs academic coursework- Overseen by Academic Affairs *Bruce Long, Chair of Academic Integrity Board- Record keeping maintained by DSO *faculty contact DSO to inquire about priors- Adjudication options: * Settlement Form * Academic Integrity Board
Code of Academic Integrity- If you suspect a student has committed a violation: * call DSO for prior history- If no prior, and penalty is less than FX, SU or EX * proceed with offer of a Settlement Form * one per student for entire academic career! * student must sign in agreement * student can request AI Board- If prior, or penalty sought is FX, SU or EX * refer to Bruce Long for AI Board * faculty member will be required to provide information in front of Board
Three Levels of Care & Intervention1. Niner Care Team -Receives and reviews initial reports of concern -Determines care and concern outreach or escalation to next level(s) for intervention2. Campus Behavioral Intervention Team (CBIT) -Multi-divisional committee to address complex behaviors of concern and develop intervention plans3. Threat Assessment Team -Determines direct threat to campus community -Administers Involuntary Protective Withdrawal - Involuntary Protective Withdrawal Policy
