  12. The Big Ah-has • Trust the research-based assessments. • Data isn’t for keeping, it’s for using. • Respect the ‘gift of time’. (When students are 1 year behind, they need to do twice as much, not half as much.) • Know what your kids need to know and TEACH them. • It’s all about the core instruction. • It all hinges on administrative knowledge and support. • It’s not about the program. It’s about the teaching. • And most importantly…
