Steps to Building a Project • Have an idea • Draw it out on paper, then do it again to scale • Make sure it’s within your skill level • What kind of wood will you use • Make sure it’s affordable • Be careful, take your time, pay attention to detail
The little Details • The little details are what make the difference • Joints • They all fit together tightly • Miters should always be sharp and no gaps • Hardware • Your handles line up to one another • Your hinges match and doors/drawers slide smoothly
Finishing your Project There are so many different ways to finish your project You could use a lacquer A wax Or a stain Depending on what you use will depend on what your project looks like A lacquer is a quick way to finish your project and still make it look nice A wax is a great way to finish the project, it will take a little longer, but in the end is worth it A stain is a nice way to get the color you want from your wood and is a cheap way to do it
