Administrative Items - 2 • Fields & Refs – Donna will communicate all game & practice field information as well as all ref assignments. • If fields are closed, coordinate with Donna for a ref on a re-scheduled game. • No unilateral changes permitted • Just because a field is open does not permit a coach/team to use it. • No access to HS/MS Fields before 5:45 PM September 3, 2008

Games – Do’s & Don’ts • DO – contact your opposing coach the Wed. before your game and confirm time and location. • DO – send directions to your families for all games. • DO – Play kids in multiple positions. • DO – Adhere to the “Equal Playing Time” policy as outlined on the website. • DO NOT – Yell at your players! Practices General Format for a Practice Session – 1 ½ Hours • Warm Up – 5-10 minutes • Drills to reinforce a specific technique or concept, (e.g. turns, passing, 1-1 defense etc) – 10-15 minutes • Games which implement and reinforce the specific technique or concept – 30 minutes • Scrimmage – 30 to 40 minutes

Sample Practice • Soccer Practice – Weston Rapids/Thunder (BU-10/GU-09) • Shooting #1 • April 16, 2008 • Objectives: To improve the shooting skills of each player. • Warm UP – Mariner Warm UP – (5-minutes) • Demonstrate the basics of shooting: (5-10-minutes) • Strike ball with laces of your foot • Stay over ball to keep shot low, if girls lean back then shot will go high • Point opposite foot in direction you want shot going • Follow thru with leg • Important to use both feet • Basic Shooting Drill – (10 minutes): Groups of two – 15 yards apart – focus on proper technique and • have each girl pass ball with shooting technique. Add two cones to simulate goals and focus on accuracy.Water Break (5 minutes) • World Cup Drill (20-25 minutes) -Three or four teams of (3) each. (with or without goalie depending on • numbers) – goals can only be scored using laces! • Water Break (5 minutes) • Mini-Scrimmage-4th Grade Girls (35 minutes)

Other important information • Communicate with your Age Director if you have any problems with your players or parents. • Communicate with your BAYS Division Director if there are any changes to the game schedule. • No playing the game without rosters. • No playing the game without at least one passcard.
