Administrative Items - 2 • Fields & Refs – Sara will communicate all game & practice field information as well as all ref assignments. • If fields are closed on game day, coordinate with Sara to reschedule and for ref assignment. • No unilateral changes permitted. • Just because a field is open does not permit a coach/team to use it. • No access to HS/MS Fields before 5:45 PM March 27, 2012

Administrative Items - 3 • BAYS Schedules – (www.bays.org). • If you need assistance, please e-mail your AD. • BAYS Section Captain – see website for responsibilities on inputting section scores. • BAYS Pre-Poning Policy – two weeks notice req’d. • Holidays: Memorial Day weekend is May 28th. • Public school break – April 16th to April 20th. Games – Do’s & Don’ts • DO… • Contact your opposing coach the Wed. before your game and confirm time and location. • Send directions to your families for all games. • Play kids in multiple positions, including goal. • Adhere to the “Equal Playing Time” policy as outlined on the website. • DO NOT… • Yell at your players! • Choose winning over player development! Practices 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 – BALL, GROUP, SCRIMMAGE General Format for a Practice Session – 90 minutes • Warm Up (5 minutes) • Drills to reinforce a specific technique or concept Example: turns, passing, 1v1 moves (20 min. – mostly individual) • Games: implement and reinforce the specific technique or concept (30 min. - group) • Scrimmage (30 min.) • Team Meeting – Review, Preview, Stay Positive (5 min.) Practices 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 – BALL, GROUP, SCRIMMAGE • Development progression • Plan practices ahead of time • Keep them moving • Lots of individual ball skills • Focus on details of the technique • Keep everyone involved – (e.g. dribbling game, lose ball…back in after 5 juggles) • Remember, it’s a game… have fun! U-09 & U-10 Clinics SKILLS AND INTEGRATION • Began in spring of 2010, now supported by Coerver of New England. • One clinic per week, one team practice per week. • Focus on individual player development – “one ball, one player”. • Entire age group trains together, regardless of team placement. • One week of goalie training in spring of 2011 (April 11th and 12th).   14. Five Key Reminders SAFETY AND CLEAN UP • Pick up trash after each practice session • Every practice, move goals to preserve goal mouth. • Have a cell phone with police info saved! (Weston Police 781-893-4803) (Weston Fire 781-893-2372) 4. Keep medical information of players on hand (during practices and games) 5. Please keep kids off the goals! March 27, 2012

Other important information COMMUNICATION AND PAPERWORK • Communicate with your Age Director if you have any problems with your players or parents. • Communicate with your BAYS Division Director if there are any changes to the game schedule. • No playing the game without rosters. • No playing the game without at least one coach passcard.
