Objective: • Learn about what an actuary does on a day-to-day basis, the education required, as well as, the procedures for taking and passing the actuarial exams • Outcome: • Met with owners of the company • Mark Dunbar, President • James Bender, Senior Consultant • Toured office and met with several actuaries to discuss the daily activities & responsibilities • College options • Proper protocal • Exam requirements • Provided me with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the life of an actuary • Confirmed that this is the right career for me
Creative Work ProjectRemembering Athletic Excellence in Burgettstown, PABurgettstown Library, Burgettstown, PA Objective: • Share and preserve the athletic history of Burgettstown, PA • Outcome: • Video created from interviews with famous Burgettstown athletes reminiscing about their favorite stories and athletic accomplishments Remember: You must include visual documentation!

Why I Chose This Project? • Increase awareness of the athletic exhibit , especially to Burgettstown’s youth • Remember the impressive people from Burgettstown’s past and their accomplishments • Preserve interesting stories and promote them via the Internet and video
Project Progress & Details • Studied the athletic exhibit located at the Burgettstown Community Library • Took pictures and video of the exhibit • Researched local athletes featured in the exhibit, such as Barry Alvarez and Edwin “Dutch” Hill • Contacted Lynn Hill who is one of the featured athletes displayed in the exhibit and a member of Pennsylvania’s Sports Hall of Fame • Interviewed many local athletes such as Lynn Hill, Patrick McGraw, and Cathy Dvorsak to create a short film about their accomplishments and favorite stories together • Edited the film using several hours of footage
Project Challenges • Film Editing • Coordinating a schedule Remember: You must include visual documentation!
Personal Benefit • Strong interest in watching and playing sports • Allow people from all over to learn about Burgettstown’s vibrant sports history • Serve as a medium of entertainment, as well as, inspiration for the youth in our community • Hopeful the exhibit will continue to grow to represent the new generation of exceptional athletes in our community
What the Future Holds? Remember: You must include visual documentation! • Promote video to local residents • Donate any proceeds to the Burgettstown Community Library • Donate copy of video to library to place in archives and share with community • Continue to study the exhibit and stay in touch with the people who helped me complete this project • Special thanks to Mr. Lynn Hill for his continued dedication to the exhibit
