  4. 1. Paul’s Confidence 1:18b-20 • Prayers of his friends • Work of the Holy Spirit Content of his Prayer • That he might never do anything that would bring him shame • That he might never lose his courage • That he might always magnify (exalt) Jesus

  5. Confidence (cont.) • He wasn’t afraid to die. The only thing that mattered was that Christ be magnified in his life.

  6. I am Not Afraid to Die • Free to focus on the things that really matter. • Indifferent to your own personal fate. • Utterly consumed with doing God’s will.
