January 2016 LCCU MeetingWindows 10 Upgrade Survey • According to an AskLeo.com survey • 2786 respondents had moved to Windows 10. • 90% had upgraded using the free download and 10% had installed from scratch. • 87% said the upgrade or install just worked. • for the other 13% , 80% were able to revert to their previous operating system, but 20% had to reinstall. • Of the 87% with a successful install of Windows 10, 84% liked it but 9% went back to the previous operating system – 7% remained discontented.

January 2016 LCCU MeetingNTFS or FAT32 removable drive? • Go to Computer, rt-click drive, select Properties • HTG Explains: Why Are Removable Drives Still Using FAT32 Instead of NTFS? • FAT32 limitations: • Doesn’t support files > 4GB, devices > 2TB. • Doesn’t journal doesn’t support file permissions. • FAT32 advantages • Macs can write to it. • Read by non-computer devices (TVs), NTFS may not.
