Baltic University Programme in Uppsala University is an innovative network by its nature, and strives to find the novel ways of interaction among universities and between universities and society, to have strong local and international educational communities. After 16 years of SAILing with the BUP students in 2013 teachers from BUP partner Universities were invited to SAIL program.
University teachers with a strong background within the field of sustainable development. PhD students also were involved and had a chance to to develop their pedagogical skills and learn from the more experienced colleagues. Teachers from different countries, cultures, universities, and disciplines had a chance to exchange knowledge, share experiences, learn and teach, develop their competencies, work together, sail the ship, and ... The teachers exchanged up to date knowledge on sustainability issues in the Baltic Sea region and worked in teams with teachers from other countries in an international setting. All teachers got a better understanding of the problems and possibilities for a sustainable development in the Baltic Sea region.
