Orpheus was the son of Apollo and Calliope. He married Eurydice who soon died. He followed her into Hades and begged Pluto to have her back. He said Orpheus could have her back if he left Hades trusting that she was right behind him. If he turned around to check that she was, Eurydice would spend eternity in Hades, and Orpheus couldnt have her back. Of course, Orpheus turned around to check on Eurydice so she died again, and he lived unhappily ever after.
