It has a cultural dimension based on research, innovation and partnerships with the other local governments of the same basin/ecosystem/region. Also significant is the possibility to try out all forms of the operative collaboration put in the practice by numberless declarations of the good will expressed during the Forums Plenary Sessions. part-financed by theEuropean Union The Adriatic Action Plan, elaborated by the Adriatic Forum, will be drafted by 2006 and shall contain common strategies, objectives, actions and commitments to be implemented before the year 2020. The Adriatic Action Plan will be directly transferred to all partners cities for its adoption and integration in every local program or strategy, but it will also be disseminated to all Adriatic and Ionian cities and others government levels, up to National Governments). In the years following the end of the project the implementation of the Adriatic Action Plan will be monitored by the AAP Agency with the target to have a complete project update every 5 years.
Aap2020 part-financed by theEuropean Union AAP2020 Committments 2006 The following cities, provinces and regions, recognizing themselves as local governments of an unique and common Adriatic region, and recognizing the necessity and the urgence of implementing effective sustainability policies at local level, will be committed in: 1. implementing by the year 2020 the Adriatic Action Plan, as attached, each one referring to the actions in its own competence, integrating them in its public budgeting, accountability and decisional procedures. In this sense, they are committed to intensify and consolidate all the partnership and cooperation activities aimed to the funding and searching for resources of actions, starting from the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities and Towns; 2. getting financial, human and technical resources, aimed to the realization of the Adriatic Action Plan, with a special attention to the opportunities provided by the next EU funding framework (2007/2013), but referring as well to other international funding agencies and opportunities (UN, World Bank, etc.); 3. involving the local communities in the realization of the Adriatic Action Plan, by using at their best the governance tools and procedures nowadays available, and providing opportunities to the stakeholders organizations and the local actors for their integration in decisional procedures AAP2020 Agency c/o Municipality of Ancona via Frediani,4 60124 Ancona ITALY EU
Aap2020 part-financed by theEuropean Union 4. utilizing, diffusing and periodically updating the ACI sustainabilty indicators (Adriatic Common Indicators), up to the creation of a common Adriatic data-bank aimed to monitor and improve the state of implementation and effectiveness of the sustainability policies at local level and the A.C.I. report/data bank must be formuled in english language; 5. supporting and incentivating the use and the diffusion of Management Systems for the sustainable development of urban Adriatic areas. The AapAgency2020, established by the Adriatic Action Plan 2020 project and hosted by the Municipality of Ancona, is committed to: 6. transmitting the Adriatic Action Plan 2020 to all the Adriatic cities, local and national governments, aiming to stimulate and facilitate their involvement in the Plan implementation. The Adriatic Action Plan 2020 must be monitored in its development, and periodically updated during the annual Assembly of the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities and Towns; 7. presenting the Adriatic Action Plan to the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development within one year from its approval, calling for its integration in the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development, and to the other international Agencies and Organizations and networks relevant for the development and the effectiveness of the Plan.
