ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • ORTHOPAEDIC MATERIAL / EQUIPMENT: sent to 24 physical rehabilitation centres - CHF 342,830
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • TECHNIAL FOLLOW-UP VISITS: 25 assisted Physical Rehabilitation Centres in 13 countries (Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Madagascar, Nigeria, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea Bissau, Morocco)
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • EVALUATION VISITS: 4 Physical Rehabilitation Centres evaluated for possible future support, in Kenya (Nairobi), Mozambique (Maputo), Djibouti (Djibouti) and in Malawi (Blantyre)
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: was performed during visits to 5 supported Centres.
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • SEMINARS / WORKSHOPS: 2 Two-week seminars on the manufacture of polypropylene lower limb prostheses and Orthoses were organised at the P&O school of Marrakech / Morocco, and at the CNAOM / Mali for a total of 23 orthopaedic technicians
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • REFRESHER COURSES: 5 one-month training in Addis Ababa on the manufacture of polypropylene lower limb prostheses and orthoses benefited to 23 technicians from 8 different countries.
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • SPONSORSHIP FOR P&O TRAINING: 2 technicians from Zimbabwe (Bulawayo and Harare) have been selected to follow a 3-years course in TATCOT P&O school.
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • TRAINING MANUALS: Development of training manuals and presentations, in English & in French.
ACHIEVMENTS JANUARY – JUNE 2005 • BENEFICIARIES: 3,771 physically disabled have received a new orthopaedic device
