Grammar Work Experience 2014 • To give your son a taste of the world of work • To allow him to test out career aspirations he may have • To experience first-hand the expectations and demands of the workplace • To focus his mind on what he then needs to do in school to gain access to his chosen career • Enjoyable and Rewarding

Key Dates 2014 • Meeting for Parents Tuesday 28th January • Assembly for Boys Thursday 30thJanuary • Agreement Forms deadline Wednesday 14th May • Grammar Examinations start Monday 23rd June • Pre-Visit to Workplace Friday 4th July • Work Experience: Monday 7th – Friday 11th July • Boys return to school Monday 14th July • Term Ends Friday 18th July

  5. Finding a placement • What if I can’t find a placement? • Can you help someone else? • Can I extend work experience?

  6. Pupil Engagement • Pupils should be proactive and engage in this process, to identify their aspirations • The Careers Room is open at lunchtimes to research and discuss placements • Use the Work Experience Co-ordinator in the Careers Room at Friday lunchtimes for advice and support
