SAT-2150 Satellite Meter About the SAT-2150 Satellite Meter: • The SAT-2150 simplifies satellite dish installation and allows precise alignment of the dish. • The meter measures digital satellite signal level, bit error rate, and carrier-to-noise ratio to confirm a quality signal.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter About the SAT-2150 Satellite Meter: • The positive signal lock feature prevents the meter from displaying a signal quality level unless the correct satellite has been targeted. • The SAT-2150 does not require a connection to a receiver or television to align the satellite dish.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter About the SAT-2150 Satellite Meter: • The SAT-2150 is preconfigured with a list of commonly used satellites in North America. • The SAT-2150 displays dish elevation and azimuth settings for each stored satellite configuration. • Up to 80 satellite configurations can be stored in the SAT-2150’s memory.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter The Following Functions can be Performed with the SAT-2150: • The SAT-2150 calculates the elevation, azimuth, and polarity for the dish for each satellite, based on the dish’s latitude and longitude. • The SAT-2150 checks the signal level from the selected satellite.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter The Following Functions can be Performed with the SAT-2150: • The features in the SAT-2150 allow for dithering (fine-tuning) of the dish. • The SAT-2150 measures the bit error rate of the satellite signal. • The carrier-to-noise ratio of the signal is measured. • The SAT-2150 allows setup of dishes with multiple LNBs.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Elevation, Azimuth, and Polarity Calculations: • Enter the latitude and longitude of the installed dish’s location into the SAT-2150. • Note: Several websites can provide latitude and longitude values for specific street addresses. • From the “Utility” screen, press the FIND key.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Elevation, Azimuth, and Polarity Calculations: • Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the desired satellite. • Press the F4 key to display the “Orientation” screen.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Elevation, Azimuth, and Polarity Calculations: • In the “Orientation” screen, the values displayed will be correct for the azimuth (AZ), elevation (EL), and polarity (PO) for the selected satellite, relative to the location of the dish installation. • Note: Record these settings. They will be used in the next step. • Press the F4 key to display the “Signal” screen.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Measuring the Signal Level: • Adjust the dish to the previously recorded elevation and azimuth values so the displayed signal (S) and quality (Q) levels are at their maximum. • The SAT-2150 will display “OK” on the screen to indicate it has locked onto the signal.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Dithering the Satellite Dish: • Using the fine-tuning bolts on the dish assembly, adjust the dish in the vertical plane to achieve the best possible signal level (S). • Using the fine-tuning bolts on the dish assembly, adjust the dish in the horizontal plane to achieve the best possible signal level (S).
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Measuring the Bit Error Rate and Carrier-to-Noise Ratio: • After fine-tuning the dish, press the F4 key to display the “Measurement” screen, and the BER and C/N ratio.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter Setup of Multiple-LNB Dishes: • Align the dish to the first target satellite. • Press the FIND key to select a second satellite configuration. • Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the second target satellite. • Press the F4 key to display the “Signal” screen for the second satellite.
SAT-2150 Satellite Meter • Note: Follow the same keystroke procedure outlined in the previous steps to switch between two satellite configurations and their respective signal levels. • Adjust the dish as necessary to achieve an acceptable compromise between both satellite signals, while toggling between satellite configurations.
