TR-2 Signal Level Meter About the TR-2 Signal Level Meter: • The TR-2 is best utilized by cable installers in new home construction. • The meter can be used to check the strength of specific audio and video frequencies. • The AC/DC volt meter measures the trunk voltage over the cable line.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter About the TR-2 Signal Level Meter: • The tilt function compares the tilt measurement between two channels. • The TR-2 is the most intuitive to use of Trilithic’s signal level meters.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter The Following Functions can be Performed with the TR-2: • In single channel mode, the TR-2 measures the video level, frequency, and Δ V/A. • In single frequency mode, the TR-2 displays the frequency and level of the audio carrier for a given channel. • The TR-2 measures the line voltage in voltmeter mode.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter The Following Functions can be Performed with the TR-2: • In dual channel mode, the TR-2 displays the video level of two channels, and the tilt between those channels. • In C/N measurement mode, the TR-2 displays the video level and carrier-to-noise measurement for levels greater than 25 dBmV.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter Single Channel Mode: • Press the CH/F key until the “Channel” screen appears. • The channel number is displayed. • The frequency of the video carrier is displayed. • The level of the signal is displayed. • The Δ V/A (dB difference between the video and audio signals) is displayed. • Note: Add 8.2 dB to the signal level measurement for digital channels.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter Single Frequency Mode: • Press the CH/F key until the “Frequency” screen appears. • The audio carrier frequency will be displayed. • The level is displayed in dBmV.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter Voltmeter Mode: • Press the CH/F key until the “Voltage” screen appears. • The trunk voltage of the RF input is displayed. • The type of voltage is displayed (AC or DC). • The TR-2’s battery charge is indicated by the battery icon. • The battery voltage is displayed.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter Dual Channel Mode (Tilt): • Press the TILT key until the “Dual Channel” screen appears. • Use the REFRESH key to toggle between channels. • Use the UP/DOWN keys to tune each channel. • Press the TILT key again to display the “Tilt” screen. • The value displayed is now the dB difference between the two channels.
TR-2 Signal Level Meter C/N Measurement Mode: • Press the TILT key until the “Carrier/Noise” screen appears. • The channel number is displayed. • The video frequency is displayed. • The signal level is displayed. • The carrier-to-nose measurement is displayed. • While in the “Carrier/Noise” screen, use the UP/DOWN keys to adjust the channel number.
