St Martin’s Year 6 London - Wednesday and Thursday 10th and 11th July 2019
Meet at Runcorn Station (Main Line) At 8:30am (at the latest) on Wednesday 10th July. The train leaves at 9:03am The children will require a packed lunch in a disposable plastic carrier bag for when we arrive. We will have our packed lunch on site when we arrive at the H.M.S. Belfast.
Staff – there will be 6 members of staff accompanying the children: • Mr. Hallman • Mrs. Carney • Mrs. Hayes • Miss. Rowe • Mrs. Eccles • Mr. McNulty • Each member of staff will have the other 5 staff mobile phone numbers.
Contact whilst we are away: • There is no direct contact to the H.M.S. Belfast. • In the unlikely event of an emergency the staff or school will be in direct contact. • Staff will be in touch with school on a daily basis and vice versa.
Medical form • Available from Mrs. Carney after the meeting. • Medical form to be returned to school no later Than Friday 5th July. • All medicines needed to be handed in by Tuesday 9th July unless needed at home and then can be handed in on the morning of Wednesday 10thJuly at the station.
Essential items • The children will have to carry their bags with them to the H.M.S. Belfast and back from it to Euston Station. Therefore we suggest a backpack rather than a suitcase. • The children will also need a pillow case and sheet for the bed on the H.M.S. Belfast. • They will also need a towel. • Comfortable shoes (no flip-flops)
Essential items • The only thing that we request the children not to wear is any football associated top – i.e. Liverpool/Everton or even a Manchester United shirt. • Spending money – up to £30 • Mobile phones will be allowed with the SIM card taken out so that they can be used as cameras.

Some of the places we will see/visit on the second day: Imperial War Museum King’s Cross Station British Library
Some of the things we will see in The Imperial War Museum: Wreckage from the Twin Towers - 911 A piece of the Berlin Wall America dropped 2 atom bombs on the Japanese in WWII – this was the (unused) 3rd.
Some other places we will see on the second day: Buckingham Palace Downing Street Westminster Abbey
We will arrive back at Runcorn (Main Line ) Station at 10:07pm on Thursday 11th July.
