Mr. Case’s Newsletter/Room 202 January 6th – January 10th wcase2@everettsd.org/ classroom #: 425.385.5652 Our Specialist Schedule: Monday - Music Tues. – Library Wed. – Computers Thurs. – Music Fri. – P.E. What We’re Learning: Reading/Writing: We are going to look at the main ideas of stories and we’ll write a short narrative about our holiday break. Geography: We will start learning about globes and maps this week. Math: 1st – We will continue learning addition strategies in topic 5 including adding three numbers which lead into story problems with three addends.. 2nd – We will be doing some review and then taking our topic 6 test. Science: We will be studying soil in our next science kit. We discussed soil briefly before the break and we’ll start to examine soil and it’s components this week. Special Announcements: I hope everyone had a peaceful holiday season. I’m looking forward to getting back into our classroom routines for the remainder of the school year. Friday, Jan. 10th: LIF Friday, students are released at 2:10. Tuesday, Jan. 14th: PTA “Skate Night”, there will be a handout coming home regarding the details. Thursday, Jan. 16th: MLK & Life Long Learners Awards Assembly at 2:45. Word of the Month: C O M M U N I C A T I O N @ Rachel Thorp 2013
