  3. One of the Pharisees invited Jesus to a meal. When he arrived at the Pharisee’s house and took his place at table Có người thuộc nhóm Pharisêu mời Đức Giêsu dùng bữa với mình. Đức Giêsu đến nhà người Pharisêu ấy và vào bàn ăn

  4. a woman came in, who had a bad name in the town. She had heard he was dining with the Pharisee and had brought with her an alabaster jar of ointment. Bỗng một phụ nữ vốn là người tội lỗi trong thành, biết được Người đang dùng bữa tại nhà ôPharisêu, liền đem theo một bình bạch ngọc đựng dầu thơm

  5. She waited behind him at his feet, weeping, and her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them away with her hair; then she covered his feet with kisses and anointed them with the ointment. Chị đứng đằng sau, sát chân Người mà khóc, lấy nước mắt mà tưới ướt chân Người. Chị lấy tóc mình mà lau, rồi hôn chân Người và lấy dầu thơm mà đổ lên.

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would know who this woman is that is touching him and what a bad name she has.’ Thấy vậy, ông Pharisêu đã mời Người liền nghĩ bụng rằng: "Nếu quả thật ông này là ngôn sứ, thì hẳn phải biết người đàn bà đang đụng vào mình là ai, là thứ người nào: một người tội lỗi !

  7. Then Jesus took him up and said, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’ ‘Speak, Master,’ Đức Giêsu lên tiếng bảo ông: "Này ông Simôn, tôi có điều muốn nói với ông !" Ông ấy thưa: "Dạ, xin Thầy cứ nói.

  8. was the reply. ‘There was once a creditor who had two men in his debt; one owed him five hundred denarii, the other fifty. Đức Giêsu nói: "Một chủ nợ kia có hai con nợ: một người nợ năm trăm quan tiền, một người năm chục

  9. They were unable to pay, so he pardoned them both. Which of them will love him more?’ Vì họ không có gì để trả, nên chủ nợ đã thương tha cho cả hai. Vậy trong hai người đó, ai mến chủ nợ hơn ?"

  10. Ông Simôn đáp: "Tôi thiết tưởng là người đã được tha nhiều hơn." Đức Giêsu bảo: "Ông xét đúng lắm." ‘The one who was pardoned more, I suppose,’ answered Simon. Jesus said, ‘You are right.’

  11. Rồi quay lại phía người phụ nữ, Người nói với ông Simôn: "Ông thấy người phụ nữ này chứ ? Tôi vào nhà ông: nước lã, ông cũng không đổ lên chân tôi, còn chị ấy đã lấy nước mắt tưới ướt chân tôi, rồi lấy tóc mà lau Then he turned to the woman. ‘Simon,’ he said, ‘you see this woman? I came into your house, and you poured no water over my feet, but she has poured out her tears over my feet and wiped them away with her hair.

  12. You gave me no kiss, but she has been covering my feet with kisses ever since I came in. Ông đã chẳng hôn tôi một cái, còn chị ấy từ lúc vào đây, đã không ngừng hôn chân tôi. 

  13. Dầu ô-liu, ông cũng không đổ lên đầu tôi, còn chị ấy thì lấy dầu thơm mà đổ lên chân tôi. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

  14. For this reason I tell you that her sins, her many sins, must have been forgiven her, or she would not have shown such great love. Vì thế, tôi nói cho ông hay: tội của chị rất nhiều, nhưng đã được tha, bằng cớ là chị đã yêu mến nhiều. Còn ai được tha ít thì yêu mến ít."

  15. Rồi Đức Giêsu nói với người phụ nữ: "Tội của chị đã được tha rồi." ’ Then he said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’

  16. ‘Those who were with him at table began to say to themselves, ‘Who is this man, that he even forgives sins?’ Bấy giờ những người đồng bàn liền nghĩ bụng: "Ông này là ai mà lại tha được tội

  17. But he said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’ Nhưng Đức Giêsu nói với người phụ nữ: "Lòng tin của chị đã cứu chị. Chị hãy đi bình an."

  18. Now after this he made his way through towns and villages, preaching, and proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom of God. With him went the Twelve Sau đó, Đức Giêsu rảo qua các thành phố, làng mạc, rao giảng và loan báo Tin Mừng Nước Thiên Chúa. Cùng đi với Người, có Nhóm Mười Hai

  20. Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and several others who provided for them out of their own resources. bà Gioanna, vợ ông Khuda quản lý của vua Hêrôđê, bà Susanna và nhiều bà khác nữa. Các bà này đã lấy của cải mình mà giúp đỡ Đức Giêsu và các môn đệ.
