The Creation of Israel Israel was created in 1948.Jews wanted to create their own state in the land of Palestine. Palestine is a territory in the Middle Eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The Jews wanted to create their own land because of Zionism, the Holocaust, Diaspora, Anti Semitism, and the U.N. created it.
The Effects of Israel’s Creation It gave homes to all of the Jews but left most of the Arabs homeless. The new Israel was attacked by terrorists. The Arabs invaded the new Israel and started wars. At age 18 most Israeli men and women are forced to be in the military.
The Occupied Territories There are 3 occupied territories. One is the Gaza Strip. Another is the Golan Heights. Then there is the West Bank. The West Bank is the largest occupied territory. The West Bank is occupied by the Palestinians. The Gaza Strip is also occupied by the Palestinians. Finally the Golan is owned by the Hebrews.
Israel's Government The distribution of power in Israel is unitary. Mainly because there is no local governments. Though the citizen’s role is democratic. The democracy happens to be parliamentary because the have Prime Minister.
Israel’s Economy On a continuum Israel would be leaning towards the market side. Mainly because they chose what to produce, how to produce, and for whom to produce. Command Market ________________________________ ^ Israel
Review Due to the creation of Israel there were wars. They divided Israel into 3 territories. The Distribution of power in Israel is unitary. Therefore Israel’s economy is mainly market.
