  1. "All Quiet On the Western Front" By: Amber, Kristen, Raechel, and Karissa

  2. Eighty men return from battle where there were previously one hundred and fifty. The rations of beans, cigarettes, and cigars are high, and the men are hungry. Chp. 1

  3. Paul, Kropp, and Muller go to see Kemmerich in the hospital. Muller wants Kemmerich’s brand new boots. They bribe the nurse with cigarettes. Chp. 1

  4. Himmelstoss orders Paul to scrub the floors and knead his boots until they are soft. Chp. 2

  5. Paul goes to visit Kemmerich in the hospital. He dies, but the doctors do nothing about it. Paul takes Kemmerich’s boots to give to Muller. Chp. 2

  6. Kat and Kindervater both bed wetters, are forced to sleep in the same bunk by Himmelstoss. (he believes they wet the bed because they are lazy). Chp. 3

  7. Haie, Tjaden, Kropp, and Paul find a drunken Himmelstoss and beat him up for revenge. Chp. 3

  8. The men hear the horses that are wounded during the shelling crying. Detering, being a farmer, pleads to just put them out of their misery. Chp. 4

  9. Paul comes across a young soldier during a bombardment. He is so scared, that he isn’t wearing his helmet and pooped his pants! Chp. 4

  10. Tjaden and Haie take pleasure in de-lousing their skin. Haie has a special kind with X’s on them and he light them on fire to kill them while the others squeeze and pop them. Chp. 5

  11. Tjaden and Kropp get their sentences for their crime of insubordination. Muller and Paul play cards with them to keep them company. Chp. 5

  12. The soldiers have to fight off the fat rats in order to protect their cheese, bread, and rum. Chp. 6

  13. The second company returns two days early. On their way, they pass a shattered school house and fresh coffins. Chp. 6

  14. Paul, Leer, and Kropp meet three French women on the banks of a river. Chp. 7

  15. Paul sees a major in the streets. When he fails to salute the major like he normally would, Paul is forced to turn around, march, and act as a soldier should towards a major. Chp. 7

  16. Paul breaks out his skills on the piano and a Russian prisoner asks to play his violin with him. Chp. 8

  17. Paul’s sister and father visit him at training. It is uncomfortable because Paul is told about his mothers sickness. Chp. 8

  18. Paul and a French enemy soldier fight hand to hand combat in a shell hole. Chp. 9

  19. Paul talks to the French soldier that night after he kills him. He tells him how sorry he is, and that he really didn’t want to kill him at all. Chp. 9

  20. During a bombardment Paul leaves the shelter and goes to his dugout to finish eating his potato pancakes. Chp.10

  21. Paul helps Kropp get away from the front lines after they are both wounded. Chp .10

  22. Kat is wounded after returning with food and Paul can’t leave him alone to retrieve a stretcher. Paul carries Kat on his back to the dressing station but once he reaches the station he realizes that Kat has been struck in the head with a shell. His best friend is dead. Chp. 11

  23. Paul goes on leave for fourteen days because he swallowed gas. He sits in the garden all day long in the sun. He believes now the armistice is coming.
