  3. GEOGRAPHICAL DESCRIPTION • Issykul oblast, Tamchi village. Three hour drive from Bishkek (around 230km) and 20km to the West from Cholpon-Ata town • 5th desert and steppe climatic zone • Location of the Project brings the following benefits: • Longer construction season; • Minimal ecological impact; • No resettlement required; • Use of widespread construction materials – no specific needs; TRACECA Investment Forum

  4. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION • Period of construction: • 3-4 years • Passenger traffic: • Around 500 passengers and 100 flights per year • Steps of construction or rehabilitation: Phase 1 and Phase 2 TRACECA Investment Forum

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DESCRIPTION • Implementation of this Project will contribute to both the country and the region: • Cholpon-Ata town is the central tourist destination in Issykul. • Development of regional tourist infrastructure. • Safe air travel to and from Issykul for foreign visitors. • Economic development of the entire health-resort zone. • Improved living standards of local population in the area. INVESTMENT AMOUNT AND REPAYMENT • Investment amount is 34,600,000.00 USD for Phase 1 and 45,800,000.00 USD for Phase 2 • Source of Repayment is the Budget of the Kyrgyz Republic + the Investor is offered the right to start up construction of health and recreation objects and tourist infrastructure on 136,5 hectares allotted for these purposes by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in “Karakol” free economic zone. Other Socio-Economic Descriptions • Reconstruction of the Issykul airport opens up the new prospects for development of regional trade focused on delivery of agricultural products • Safe passenger transportation especially during the wintertime will be ensured • Air travel in comparison to road travels is a good time saver • Saving the travel time and avoidance of time consuming ground border check-point procedures make Issykul tourist destinations more attractive for foreign visitors throughout the year-round period • Increase in seasonal employment as well as improvement of permanent employment opportunities TRACECA Investment Forum

  8. SUMMARY Both Phases of the Project require 80,400,000.00 USD The Issykul Lake is a true health and recreation heart of the Kyrgyz Republic. Reconstruction of the air travel infrastructure goes in line and simultaneously with the state of the art governmental policy aimed at enhancement of the health and recreational status of the Issykul zone.
