Canakkale For the history fans out there, Canakkale is a fantastic little place to visit, it is situated on the southern (Asian) bank of Dardanelles – Turkey, and has a wealth of history! There is significant evidence to suggest that this little city has been inhabited since 3000 B.C. and the Canakkale strait was the stage of a yearlong battle between France, Britain and the Ottoman Empire.
Longyearbyen Port, Norway An absolutely breath taking port which happens to be one of the most inhospitable regions on the planet. Native to the area are some of the most feared creatures in the Arctic Circle, the town was first settled in 1860 and was named after the American entrepreneur John Longyear , who had founded the Artic Coal Company.
