Digitized data • Time resolution of data -Daily data -Daily data measured three time at day ( in 7:00, 14:00 and 21:00 ) -Hourly data -10 min data • Length of records -Length of daily data records for elements Tmax, Tmin, Precipitation, Sun duration, Total and New snow : 58 years ( for most main and climatological stations) -Length of daily data measured three time at day for elements Temp, Press, Wind, Rel Hum, Visibility, Sea Temp, etc: 58 years (for most main and climatological stations) -Length of daily data records for Precipitation : 25 years ( for precipitation stations) -Length of hourly data records for wind direction and velocity : 15 years ( for 4 main stations) -Length of 10 min data records for wind direction and speed : 18 years ( for two main stations) -Length of 10 min data records :5 years (from automatic stations)

Metadata • Station geographical information available in digital form -Station ID -Station name -Latitude, Longitude, Altitude -Begin and end date of observation -Remarks -Observation schedule • Station History -Relocation of stations -Type of instruments -Observing practices -Calibrating instruments are not available in digital form and they are incomplete!

Data availability • Free access to all meteorological data and products for - all activities which take place within Hydrometeorological Institute - any projects organized by university or scientific institute for research purposes - educations purposes by schools, university or scientific institute

Meteorological archive • Data preserved on paper form are kept in -Archive ofHydrometeorological Institute ( greater part ) -Central archive of Montenegro • Content : - Meteorological diaries - Tracks from -thermographs -anemographs -barographs -hygrographs -pluviographs -heliographs -Publications -monthly bulletins -yearbooks

  11. Dare activities • Make all data from archive available on a roll of images. • Entering all data from tracks in database. Problems: -Lack of technical equipment - Insufficient financial resources -Insufficient number of qualified staff

  12. New database system • Providing a new database management system. These database must be solves all our main issues: • Managing the network of stations: automatic and classical. • Comfortable data acquisition and validation • Data quality control functions • Archiving of metadata. • Output Products and Calculated data • Data distribution for scientific, research and other purposes.
