Introduction • Tibial Pilon fractures uncommon and difficult to manage 1. • Number of investigators Very few have examined functional outcomes associated with these fractures2. • The injury high energy axial force2. • Our purpose Assess functional outcome pilon fractures after surgery in the Orthopaedic Department of Sardjito General Hospital. • Wound problems, osteomyelitis, malunion, non union, pin-tract infections, and hardware failuretypical obstacles must be avoid to obtain a satisfactory outcome3. • Mauffrey, C. Objective • To determine the functional outcome of patients with Tibial Pilon fracture after surgical treatment. • Incidence1% of all lower limb fractures12. • 5-7% of alltibial fractures1,2. • The injury high energy axial force2. • The concept of treatment management of the soft tissues, recreation of the joint surfaces, restoration of limb alignment1. • Mauffrey, C. Methods • Subject : Patient with Tibial Pilon fractures • Location : Sardjito General Hospital • Time : January 2011 – December 2012
Result • The average patient age was 34±5.6 years (range 28–52 years).
Conclusion • The functional outcome was consistent with the degree of the Rüedi-Allgöwer Classification. • Higher degree of Rüedi-Allgöwer Classification showed decreasing of the functional outcome.
