MPOBC/Phase III BOLC Word Picture Graduates of the Military Police Officer Basic Course possess the technical and tactical skills, physical fitness and leadership qualities required to successfully lead platoons. They are familiar with the five functions of the MP Corps and are trained on the most critical tasks required of a platoon leader. These officers demonstrate a thorough understanding of and willingness to live by the Army values and a firm grasp of the attributes, skills, and actions that form the foundation of a competent and confident leader. This is the end state for the MP officers who complete the Combined Arms Battle Command Course.This is the end state for the MP officers who complete the Combined Arms Battle Command Course.

    7. MP Officer Basic Course (Today) Talking Points: (1) Systematic Approach to training allows students to visualize their educational experience as an operational deployment while here at USAMPS. (From pre-deployment, to tactical operations, to post deployment/garrison functions) -Significant changes in enhanced marksmanship using Engagement Skills Trainer -Significant refinement in Urban Operations with use of simulations and IED awareness as reflective of the COE -MP FTX and TEWTS have been revised to incorporate scenarios faced in OIF/OEF to include Detainee Operations -Law classes have reinforced the Law of Land Warfare as an essential element into how we fight in current and future operations -Law and Order has seen significant changes in terrorism traits, patterns, techniques (2) Shaping MPOBC Towards BOLC – USAMPS has removed / reduced: -Reduced Common Core Tasks as they were selected for instruction in BOLC I and II -Reduced Driver Training -> Practical experience provided in FTX -Reduced MP History Instruction -> Inserted as Non-POI event -Removed Intro to Battle Analysis -> BOLC II -Reduced Non-Lethal & Civil Disturbance -> Integrated into FTX; Reinforced at Unit- -Modified FTX (focus on MP Tasks and COE) to focus on Critical Tasks Taught -Removed Threat Update -> Unit will Provide Area Specific -Reduced World Military Affairs -Reduced Area Security Instruction -> Reinforced in Training and FTXTalking Points: (1) Systematic Approach to training allows students to visualize their educational experience as an operational deployment while here at USAMPS.     10. BOLC II MISSION To develop competent, confident and adaptable Lieutenants, grounded in warrior tasks, able to lead Soldiers in the contemporary operational environment. Endstate: An Officer who is trained in warrior tasks and the warrior Battle Drills, who is self-aware and adaptable; an Officer who will not accept defeat and will never quit, who demonstrate the characteristics of an Army leader while living the Army Values; and who embodies the warrior ethos.

    12. BOLC III CONSTRUCT 49 Total Tasks Required by TRADOC In BOLC III SGLs Instruct all 49 Tasks recommended for implementation in BOLC III as either Programmed Instruction (PI), Integrated Training (IT), or Refresher Instruction (RI)
