  1. When you click the UPK link on the Core-CT web site, the Core-CT UPK Outline page will display.Use the Outline (left column) to navigate to the topic you want to play back. The Outline is similar to a Table of Contents.The Concept window will change as you navigate through the Outline and will give you information about the topics covered.The Playback Mode menu bar is where you select the playback mode you want to see displayed once you navigate to a topic.

  2. The purple books in the Outline signify modules with UPK exercises.The purple books within the module represent Sections.The open book icon represents your place in the outline.Click the Plus sign to view the topics for that module. The paper sheet icons represent topics.

  3. You can also search for your topic by entering the key words in the Search field of the Outline. Click the GO button and the search results will display. Select the playback mode from the search results.

  4. Once you have navigated to the topic you want to play back, select the Playback mode.

  5. See It! Mode - This web video allows you to learn by watching. You can pause, resume, and replay the training at any time.Try It! Mode - Learn interactively in this simulated environment. The UPK Player provides you with instructions as to what needs to be done to complete a task, but you perform the actual steps.Know It? Mode - This interactive simulation allows you to assess your skills without the step-by-step instructions. Test knowledge gained from training. The Scoring in the Know It! Mode is for your information only. The scores are not recorded by UPK, nor used by the State in any manner. Do It! Mode - The Do It! Pane will open on top of the application and lead the user through the process step-by-step. This pop up window will act as a coach in production when we are ready for the next phase of the UPK implementation. The Do It! Playback Mode will be available when you click the Help link. It will not be available on the Core-CT web site.

  6. Once you click the See It! Playback mode the video animation runs for you and the exercise performs all of the actions while you watch.Click the Pause link to suspend the playing of the animation.Click the to close the topic.

  7. Clicking the Actions link in any mode will open the Actions menu. Select the appropriate action.

  8. Follow the instructions in the yellow bubbles to complete an exercise in the Try It! Playback mode.You will be prompted to try again if you make a mistake.

  9. Use the Know It? Playback mode to test knowledge gained after viewing the See It! or Try It! Playback modes. The Scoring in the Know It? Mode is for your information only. The scores are not recorded by UPK, nor used by the State in any manner.

  10. The yellow bubbles are either blank or display brief instructions.Complete the exercise by performing the appropriate steps.

  11. You will receive an incorrect message if you enter the wrong step. Click Show Step to display a message letting you know your score will be affected.

  12. Clicking the X icon will prompt a confirmation message in the yellow bubble. At the completion of the exercise the score displays.

  13. UPK also produces Training Guides. Training Guides are Word files that are similar to our current Job Aids and include screen shots and step by step instructions. Training Guides for any topic in the outline are available by contacting the Help Desk.

  14. UPK Job Aids are Training Guides without the screen shots and include step by step instructions.
