UPMC McKeesport Highlights • Barriers to clinical trials effort at UPMC McKeesport • Several physicians have no formal affiliation with UPMC Health System or University of Pittsburgh (IRB of record for McKeesport) • Solution • Working with local mentor (U Pitt) to establish affiliation with Pitt for these docs • Assisting with coordination of eligibility requirements necessary to conduct trials
UPMC McKeesport Highlights • Navigator Study Defined and data collection begun • Notification by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of eligibility for Health Formula Funds (tobacco settlement monies) • Appropriation of $58k • UPMC McKeesport has dedicated funds to our research efforts

Navigator Study • Aims • Assess outcomes between patients in navigator program (Jameson [intervention site]) and non-navigator program (Murtha [control site]) • Assess outcomes between eligible patients who participated in navigator program and those who did not participate in the program at Jameson
