The most dangerous game tech focus assignment Julia Hudson
The boat arriving/passing the jungle (coastline) • “There was no breeze, the sea was as flat as a plate – glass window. We were drawing near the island then what I felt was a mental chill, a sort of sudden dread. Pure imagination, said Rainsford, one superstitious sailor can taint the whole ships company with his fear.” (Page 20) • He is saying that just passing the island makes him fearful & gives him the chills & this early in the book means that the island is a terrifying place. But the other man ( Rainsford) doesn’t know what's so bad about the island. This setting reveals the main conflict in the story & it shows that Whitney has suspicions about the island.
