The Axial Skeleton • - Cranial Bones (8) • Frontal bone (1): Frontal air sinus, coronal suture • Parietal bones (2): Sagittal suture • Occipital bone(1): Foramen magnum, occipital condyles, lambdoid suture • Temporal bones (2): Squmous part, petrous portion, tympanic part, mastoid part, zygomatic process of temporal bone • Sphenoid bone(1): Sell turcica, lesser wings, greater wings, sphenoid air sinus • Ethmoid bone (1): Crista gali, cribriform plate, perpendicular plate, ethmoid air sinuses

The Axial Skeleton • - Facial Bones (14) • Lacrimal bones (2) • Nasal bones (2) • Maxillary bones(2): Maxillary air sinuses, alveolar processes • Zygomatic bones (2): temporal process of zygoma • Palatine bones (2) • Inferior nasal conchae (2) • Vomer (1) • Mandible (1): Condyloid process, mandibular notch, coronoid process, ramus, angle, body, mental point, mandibular foramen

The Axial Skeleton • Auditory ossicles (6): Malleus, incus, stapes • Hyoid bone (1): body, greater and lesser horns • Sternum (1): Manubrium, body, xiphoid process, suprasternal notch, clavicular notch, costal notch • Ribs (24): Head, neck, angle, shaft, costal cartilage • Vertabrae (26): body, pedical, transverse process, lamina, spinous process, vertebral foramen, superior and inferior articular facets, intervertebral foramen, intervertebral disc, vertebral canal.

  5. The Appendicular Skeleton • - Upper Extremities and Pectoral Girdle (64 Bones): • - Clavicle (2): Sternal end, acromial end, superior and inferior surfaces, anterior and posterior borders • - Scapula (2): Subscapular fossa, suprspinous fossa, infraspinous fossa, spine of scapula, acromion, coracoid process, suprascapular notch, glenoid cavity, medial and lateral borders, superior and inferior angles • - Humerus Bone (2): Head, anatomical neck, surgical neck, greater tubercle, lesser tubercle, intertubercular groove or sulcus, shaft of humerus, deltoid tubersoity, medial and lateral humeral epicondyles, capitulum, trochlea, radial fossa, coronoid fossa, olecronon fossa • - Radial Bone (2): Head, neck, tubersoity, shaft, base, styloid process • - Ulnar Bone (2): Olecranon process, trochlear notch, coronoid process, shaft, base, styloid process • -Carpal Bones (16): Proximal row (L-M): scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform; Distal row (L-M): trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, hamate • -Metacarpal Bones (10): Head, shaft, and base • -Phalangeal Bones (28): Proximal, mid, and distal except for the thumb only proximal and distal with head, shaft, and base

The Appendicular Skeleton • - Lower Extremities and Pelvic Girdle (62 Bones): • - Hip bones (2): Ilium (iliac crest), Ischium (ischiacl stuberosity, ischial spine), Pubis (symphysis pubis, obturator foramen). All the three pelvic bones are united at the acetabulum. • - Femur bone (2): Head, neck, greater trochanter, lesser trochanter, shaft, lateral and medial femoral epicondyles, and medial and lateral femoral condyles, intercondyler fossa) • - Patella bone (2): largest sesamoid bone • - Tibia bone (2): Tibial spine, medial and lateral tibial condyles, shat, medial malleolus • - Fibula bone (2): Head, neck, shaft, lateral malleolus • - Tarsal bones (14): Talus, calcaneus, cuboid, navicular, medial, intermediate and lateral cuneiforms • - Metatrasal bones (10): Head,shaft, & base • - Phalangeal bones (28): Proximal, mid, and distal except for the big toe only proximal and distal with head, shaft, and base
