Vision Statement I will strive to ensure that technology is designed in my everyday lesson plans, instructional methods, and professional actions to help make my life and the life of my students easier, to enrich the learning process, and to continually keep my educational practices relevant to today’s world.
Philosophy of Technology in Education I believe that technology should be enveloped in all areas of curriculum and education to increase our effectiveness as teachers and to improve our students educational experience. However, the use of technology in the educational process can be a positive action or have a negative outcome. The inclusion of technology into our teaching practices must be done in a way that brings relevance to our students education. By combining tried and true “best practices” with new ideas and new technology you can continue to provide a strong and relevant learning environment for your students. The use of technology just for the sake of using it does nothing to enhance the learning process and simply acts as a catalyst to disengage the student from the true learning process. Yet, not incorporating technology into our instructional methods and daily educational lives leaves our students out of touch and unprepared for life. Therefore, it is our charge as teachers to create an educational atmosphere that balances educational “best-practices” with current technology.
