  2. Research World as Comprehensive Context A research world holds core beliefs about the nature of reality, ways of knowing, and ways of conducting research based on these understandings. Each research world is an interdependent system, coherent across a comprehensive context. What is acceptable in each world is agreed upon and held in place by many stakeholders.

Abbreviated Principles of Relational Constructionist Research • People act from what is meaningful to them • Meaning emerges in unfolding inter-actions • Unfolding interactions draw from and reshape social, local, historical environments • Collective action (rather than individual behavior) continuously (re)constructs realities • We can change our patterns of interactions and become something we were not before and open possibilities for the communities with which we engage.
