DISADVANTAGES STUDENTS Easy to surf inappropriate sites Use of inaccurate information from nonreputable sites Replaces class discussion which is important for special education students Recent immigrants may not be familiar with technology Not all students have home access TEACHERS • Fear that sites will be discontinued • Internet may not work at school • Some sites are blocked at school • The amount of time it takes to find what is needed • Hard to keep track of all students and where they are on the internet

ENGAGE AND MOTIVATE Developing learning activities which ask students to develop a personal understanding of the objectives with the integration of high quality internet sources is what is needed for deeper learning. The types of assessment used should mirror the learning objectives and activities. ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
