Characters • Bird-an 11 year old girl who loves airplanes (especially the P-90 warhawk) and she doesn’t have a lot of friends. • Kenji-A Japanese kid who just moved to the town and everyone thinks he’s a spy. • Deputy Steyer- a deputy nice deputy that always hears birds made up stories. • Birds dad- fixes planes in till recruited into the army and Birds best friend.

  3. Setting • A small city in Rhode Island right next to Providence.

  4. Plot This book is about a girl named bird. Her dad left to go to the war against Japan at the same time a Japanese boy named Kenji starts going to her school. Later that day Kenji is getting chased by bullies so Bird helps him get away in a row boat. The boat is knocked over bye a spies submarine but no one believes them. Will they save everyone from the spies? Read the book to find out.
