Primary Review – Rationale 3.44 Even now, a reasonable grasp of ICT is needed in education and employment, and it will become increasingly important to command ICT skills to prepare for technologies of the future. 3.45 To argue against the importance of ICT in the primary curriculum is to ignore the increasing digitisation of information worldwide. The Framework for the National Curriculum. A report by the Expert Panel for the National Curriculum reviewDepartment for Education - December 2011 Information and communication technology is reclassified as part of the Basic Curriculum and requirements should be established so that it permeates all National Curriculum subjects. We have also noted the arguments, made by some respondents to the Call for Evidence,58 that there should be more widespread teaching of computer science in secondary schools. We recommend that this proposition is properly considered. http://jsavage.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/FINAL-Expert-Panel-Report.pdf
