  3. The purpose of the Project: - Get familiar with Human Body Systems Get familiar with different diseases that effect Body Systems - Get familiar with Biotechnology that is being used to cure those diseases

  4. Your task: • to research one major body system, a corresponding disease of that system, and the diagnosis/treatment for that disease. • You will be working in groups of 2 – 3 students to prepare a presentation on your research. • You will be given 8 – 10 class periods to prepare a presentation of your choice and then present it to the class.

  5. Time frame: • Date Assigned: Thursday, May 23 • Interim Date: Friday, May 31 • Date Due: Monday,June 10

  6. It is your choice on how you want to present your research findings. Options include: • PowerPoint presentations • skits/demonstrations • videos • tri-fold posters, models, etc. • AND a handout to accompany your findings.

  7. By 7:55a.m. on Monday,June 10 you must give your teacher(s) the following: *Regardless of your presentation date • 1. Main Presentation Artifact: a) if in PowerPoint or in video format provide an electronic copy b) if demonstration/skit - provide a word document of your script • tri-fold Poster(s) and/or Model(s) - must be hand-delivered • 2.A double-sided handout summary of your research. • One side- on the system with a diagram and description of structure/function • other side - on the disease, symptoms/diagnosis, and treatment

  9. Your presentations will be given equal weight for both content and presentation. It is not only important to have well researched material, but also to add your creativity to enhance your project.
