JaVar Myatt-Jones earned an undergraduate degree at Morehouse College before he moved on to medical school. Ever since he was in high school, Myatt-Jones wanted to be a physician. He began his collegiate career with a Biology degree, often the first step for people who want to enter the medical profession in any capacity. He graduated from Morehouse College in 2001.

He worked extremely hard to get to this point, completing his family medicine residency program at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. He has since rededicated himself to honing his skills as a doctor. He was the chief executive resident at St. Joe’s and takes pride in taking on new and increasingly complicated new roles as a physician. JaVar Myatt-Jones had dreams of being a doctor for many years, starting in high school. He was particularly interested in the connection between scientific research and medicine and decided he wanted to be a physician.

He was a regular at the Community Health Clinic in Chicago for three years during which time he also participated in several health fairs for the community. He wants his patients in his community to get access to the healthcare services and treatments they need to get and remain healthy. JaVar Myatt-Jones has always had a strong interest in education and bettering himself with further learning and training. Myatt-Jones has long understood that true education is a lifelong pursuit, and in the spirit of being a lifelong learner, Myatt-Jones is always challenging himself to be better at what he does. In high school, he wanted to learn to be a better writer, and in time he was the recipient of several writing contest awards.
JaVar Myatt-Jones Former Chief Executive Resident JaVar Myatt-Jones is the former chief executive resident at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. The Residency program was a part of the University of Illinois, in Chicago. He became Chief Executive Resident by taking on new responsibilities and working to hone his skills as a physician and researcher while he worked through his residency there. He now works as a Family Medicine physician in Alabama. JaVar Myatt-Jones was a member of the Parade Honor Corps, which honors the best and brightest scholars in the city of Detroit. He marched proudly as a Parade Honor Corps member in the 70th-annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade with three hundred more honor alumni and students.
JaVar Myatt-Jones Former Family Medicine Resident JaVar Myatt-Jones completed his post-graduate residency in Family Medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital at the University of Illinois—Chicago in 2011. He routinely took on new and different responsibilities whenever he could so that he could develop his skills and knowledge in several different areas to become a more well-rounded doctor. After completing his residency at the University of Illinois—Chicago, he completed additional training and certification in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona’s Integrative Health Center. JaVar Myatt-Jones earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2009. He worked for a time at various local practices in Detroit, where he focused on weight loss and research. After these stints he completed his post-graduate certification and education in Family Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in the residency program. In 2011, he completed his residency.
