You Want to Start a Podcast? • It's an "online radio show" that you can update whenever you want • People subscribe to you in iTunes (they all auto-download when you have a new episode) • Keep in mind: most people listen to this in the car, while walking, or exercise (always be in their minds)

  3. The Big Picture • Install a WordPress blog (or use your existing PUBLIC blog – not a private membership site) • "PowerPress" plugin to add special "RSS tags" onto your posts for iTunes to understand • Record audio, edit special "ID3 tags" directly into the file for iPods and music players to understand

  4. "Hoops" to Jump Through • Upload your MP3 file to LibSyn.com (hosting) • Paste special link under a new blog post • Upload one episode, submit to iTunes.com(only need to do it once, now it's in there) • Submit to podcast directories • Now use your email list and social media to build viewership

  5. Software • (Logitech USB H530 headset) • LibSyn.com: host audio • WordPress (with PowerPress plugin): the blog • Winamp: play background music (and add tags) • Camtasia: record voice plus music • GoldWave: process your recording into an MP3 • Paint.NET: create show "artwork" (optional)

  6. Enhancements • Facebook fan page (ads and shoutouts) • Parked domain name (for the fan page itself) • Regular schedule (weekly or once every 2 weeks) • Interviews, guest presenters, guest segments
