  2. Challenge • Using your knowledge of the water cycle solve the following case. Scientists who had been studying the drought in Atlanta observed that lake Lanier seemed to be drying up. And thus the city was running out of water. • What could be going on in the water cycle process near Atlanta that is causing this effect on Lake Lanier? • What things do you think are influencing what you think happened during the water cycle?

  3. Starter • How much of earth’s water can you actually drink? Why? • In some kind of picture show how much salt water, glaciers, ground water and liquid fresh water is on earth.

  4. In your own words explain what evaporation, transpiration and condensation, and precipitation means.

  5. Describe the water cycle in your own words. • What are the stages of the water cycle in the order in which they happen? • If the water cycle did not exist what would happen?

  11. Evaporation- When water heats up and turns to water vapor Water vapor is water that has turned to steam

  12. Transpiration: When plants loose water - plant sweating

  13. Condensation:- when water vapor cools and then turns back into liquid

  14. Precipitation- when water falls from clouds - rain
