International Honors Certificates • Introduce global perspectives • Online curricula from world-class universities • Self-paced, independently completed • Each IHC is equivalent to a 3-hour semester-credit course • Inexpensive – community college tuition; All course materials included

16. 2015/2016 Soft Launch • 2015/2016 Pilot, 7 colleges • Students registered for new IHC sections of existing courses that have been “matched” with IHC courses • Students set up accounts on IHC host network and complete course work independently and self-paced by the end of the term • An Orientation presentation provides information about what to expect • Digital PDFs of the Certificates are available for download immediately upon successful completion

Goals for the IHC Pilot at DCCCD • Increase involvement and interest in Phi Theta Kappa • 1st quarter 2016 membership numbers were 23% above 1st quarter 2015 • Increase Completion • Increase numbers of students applying for and receiving the Gilman and other scholarships, and studying abroad • Meet Dallas region’s employer expectations related to global competencies

How can colleges participate? • Agreement • Data-sharing and instructional services • IHC Management • Identify administrator • Establish and list course names/numbers/sections • Communications with advisors, faculty, students • Certify registered student list following the add/drop date • Coordinate remittance for instructional services • Student Support • Tech support from IHC platform administrators • Orientation and course support from Phi Theta Kappa • Certificates available immediately upon successful completion
