Program Manager Role • Serves as liaison between WTCC/JCC and the NCWorks Career Centers • Submits monthly reports • Makes final approval decisions • Provides outreach to students
Program Manager Workflow • Receives application from WTCC and JCC • Conducts Level 2 screening (WIOA and Finish Line Grant eligibility) • Makes recommendation (approval or denial) of the application • Sends official email with approval or denial of request
Approved Students • CAWD Program Manager contacts student • Appointment for WIOA enrollment • Students register on NCWorks Online • Secures documentation needed for WIOA enrollment Denied Students CAWD Program Manager contacts student by phone/email and informs student of reason for denial
Collaboration Methods • Utilization of Smartsheet as a tool to keep track of student progressions • Held meetings to discuss ways to provide outreach to students • Vice President • Financial Aid Office • Registrar’s Office • Continuing Education • Communications • Program Manager and One-Stop System Director

Process Improvements • Fillable PDF of the FLG application for easy completion • Increasing awareness with the Communications department in an effort to reach more students • Posting information for FLG on social media platforms
Referring to NCWorks Career Center • NCWorks Career Center staff (NCWCCS) are on rotation to be available for student appointments • Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) processes referrals from Wake Tech and JCC • CAWD emails NCWCCS for appointment date and time. • The appointment is confirmed with NCWCCS. • CAWD emails the appointment confirmation to student(s) and copies the designated NCWCCS. • Within the body of the email, CAWD includes documents required during the appointment. • I.e. Identification Card, Social Security Card, and school transcripts
NCWorks Role in Finish Line • NCWCCS provides an overview of all NCWorks services. • NCWCCS completes the Wagner Peyser and WIOA Enrollments tagging the customer with the FLG Activity Code. Individual Employment Plans are created. • The applicant’s financial hardship payments are processed.
