  3. Background (continued) • SAWG SG/DOE meeting, November, 05 • Amerine (EFCOG chair) letter of 12/22/06 offering EFCOG assistance re O 413.3 (PMWG and SAWG) • EH response to Dep. Sec. direction • 3009 for PDSAs, including process of design/safety analyses integration and format and content of PDSA, as a function of CD stage • Working group development process similar to that used for development of 3009

Development Process • Form working group (order of 20 people) • Experienced with the integration process • Can write • Can commit to degree of participation necessary • 3 to 4 meetings of whole WG • Collect and review existing guidance documents • Discuss format and content of standard; develop table of contents • Discuss content of each section • Assign writers • Develop and integrate drafts of sections • Review and revise sections as necessary

  5. Other Considerations • Expected schedule is 12 to 18 months for final draft • Participants will largely have to be supported by their own organizations • Administrative/coordinating/integration support staff for EH
