HISTORY • Red Bull was first created as an adaption to the Thai energy drink Kraeting Daeng • Created by Dietrich Mateschtz, an international marketing director • First introduced in the U.S.A in 1997 • Red Bull has remained it’s same logo since it’s debug • Red Bull’s slogan “It Gives you Wings” and marketing commercials wasn’t created until the late 90’s
TARGET MARKET • Red Bull is popular with teens all the way up through people in their 30s • Popularity of Red Bull in alcoholic drinks also influences target market • Red Bull is estimated to dominate 60-70% of the energy drink market
DESIGN INFLUENCES • Deidrich’s main inspiration came from his first taste of KratingDaeng, which is Thai for "Red Bull” • Most of the Red Bull design aspects come from KratingDaeng
PROCESS… • Quick Survey • I found that only 20% of the 30 students I ask could clearly identify the Red Bull logo, most identified the logo being a single red bull
...PROCESS • Listened to the audience, chose to reduce the logo to one bull • “It Gives you Wings” • Additional features added to unify logo; I.e. steam, sun, and wings along with a circling new font
…PROCESS • Intro to Illustrator… • !!!!!! • After a series of unfortunate events, my design turned out well all together.
