Study Routes to a Legal Qualification Please note that a person who has not completed an LLB degree, may not practice as an advocate or attorney. * A BSc degree, followed by an LLB-degree, is suitable for those students who wish to pursue careers as Intellectual Property (Patent) Attorneys.

Admission requirements for LLB • A valid National Senior Certificate with admission for degree purposes • A letter of motivation • The following minimum requirements -
Minimum Requirements • Any two languages, of which one language must be Afrikaans or English • Candidates with an APS of 38 or higher will on receipt of their applications immediately be accepted (pending final grade 12 results) • After 30 June, the remaining spaces in the LLB • programme will be allocated to candidates with an • APS of 32 – 37 by means of a selection process • Also apply for BCom Law and/or BA Law.
For Noting • Provisional admission based on results obtained in final Grade 11 examination • Final admission based on Grade 12 results • Write the NBT • Life orientation is excluded from calculation determining APS required for admission • 190 newcomer first years may be admitted to the LLB degree per academic year.
