Cable Jeopardy • Supported by Jones/NCTI and SCTE • Game is shipped from Jones/NCTI to the chapter cable games coordinator • Requires: • Laptop and Projector • MC (host) • Game operator • 1-3 Judges • Microphone • Teams of 4 contestants
Cable Jeopardy • Tip: • Test the software, answers and questions before the event.
Cable Splicing • Supported by Thomas and Betts, PPC, Corning Gilbert • Game is supplied by host representatives • Timed event - 5 min. limit • It a tie, fastest time will be the tie-breaker • Requires: • 6’ table • Trash pail • Individual event, team members compete one at a time • Cable may need to be provided
Fiber Splicing • Supported by AFL, Corning, 3SAE • Game is supplied by host representatives • Timed Event: 5 minute limit • Fastest time will be the tie-breaker • Requires: • 6’ table • Electricity • Extra lighting • Trash pail • Individual event, team members compete one at a time
MTDR • Supported by RiserBond/Radio Detection and Tempo • Game is supplied by host representatives • Measure and record length and termination of four cable samples. • Contestants that have not competed should not be allowed to watch. • Requires: • 6’ table • Electricity • Individual event, team members compete one at a time
Meter Reading • Supported by JDSU (Acterna) and Trilithic • Game is supplied by host representatives • Requires: • 6’ table • Electricity • Individual event, team members compete one at a time
Drop Connection • Supported by CommScope and Times Fiber • Exhibition game at the 2006 International Games; official game for 2007 Games • Requires: • 6’ table • Trash pail • Individual event, team members compete one at a time
Organizing Local Competition • Contact Cable-Tec Games hosts via email: cablegames@lists.scte.org • Distribution list notifies the hosts and they will respond to you about their availability • Chapter is responsible for providing necessary space and arrangements (ie- electricity, tables, etc.) • Chapter to recruit contestants • All contestants must sign a waiver • Waivers to be sent along with final score sheet to SCTE
Organizing Local Competition • Chapter to have one official score keeper, with laptop • Score sheet available via SCTE CORe web site • Chapter to order T-Shirts • 5 shirts with the same color per team • Chapter to order awards medals • Form on SCTE CORe site • Logogram is the supplier • Sponsorships • No host shall be prohibited from providing and judging their event • All hosts commit their time and work with their competitors for the betterment of the industry. No vendor that is a part of CTG group should be denied.

International Cable-Tec Games • Take place each year Thursday evening during Cable-Tec Expo • Each region receives 2 spots for contestants • Contestants must be current SCTE members • Regional Directors select the contestants and notify SCTE by April 15th • Overall winner is invited back to compete the following year • Winnings include $500 travel expense reimbursement • 4 nights of hotel accommodation • Free Cable-Tec Expo registration
