  3. 56% of soldiers were killed or wounded Medical services were primitive, antibiotics had not been discovered yet This meant infection was common The greatest killer was disease/infection Life in the trenches

  4. Sanitary conditions were very poor Many soldiers suffered from gangrene and trenchfoot Life in the trenches cont.
