  1. VERTICAL HODOSCOPESVH Carlos Marinas Antonio Romero University of Santiago de Compostela November ´06 Antonio Romero (USC)

  2. 40 Hodoscopes • 36 were used on the previous setup • These were completely reassembled and refreshed • 4 are new • The technique used is the same as the old ones • They are placed covering the area of higher momentum in left arm (+) Antonio Romero (USC)

  3. Some photos… Detail of the assembling Old hodoscopes refreshed Antonio Romero (USC)

  4. Tests • All hodoscopes were tested • Lightproof • Signal shape • Signal amplitude with cosmic rays • Magnetic shielding is guaranteed with mumetal (1-17 miliGauss) • They are placed in the frame • Gap between slabs in + arm: 0.9 mm • Gap between slabs in – arm: 1.2 mm Antonio Romero (USC)

  5. Some photos… Mumetal Experimental setup Signal shape Gaps Antonio Romero (USC)

  6. Cabling • The new hodoscopes have signal and HV cables, coming from old PSh in the previous setup • All the cables were rearranged in the electronics panel and also in the power supply • The cables were tested • Impedance • Signal transmision • Voltage Antonio Romero (USC)

  7. photos Don´t touch the ´blue´ cables!! Antonio Romero (USC)

  8. With beam… • We tested if all the signals exist • We made the fine tunning of voltages in order to have the same amplitudes • Primitive Trigger with oscilloscope using VH and HH • We repeated the process one month after the beginning of the beam Everything is working! Antonio Romero (USC)

  9. Conclusions • The system of Vertical Hodoscopes is refreshed • All detectors are working and have the same amplitude • The first tunning is made, but a fine tunning is needed Antonio Romero (USC)
